STACEY WILSON.
Philadelphia has always been known for it’s epic murals that grace it’s neighborhoods. Faces of all colors, imagery of all kinds, bringing life to the brick canvas upon which they were created. Philadelphia has always been known for it’s influence on music, birthing all types of poets… from The Fresh Prince himself to Freeway, The Roots, and Jill Scott (to only mention a few). Music and art have built the foundation for Philly’s eclectic style. After spending 6 years in Philadelphia, I stumbled across one artist that I believe to have also influenced that style. Wishing I had come across her work sooner, Stacey “Flygirrl” Wilson is Philly’s best triple threat.
Artist, designer, and nightlife entrepreneur who rolls with the likes of ?uestlove and Yameen Allworld. Her work has been featured in different galleries all throughout Philadelphia and has even made its way to the pages of Jill Scott’s poetry book. I had the pleasure of meeting her at one of her exhibitions earlier in the year and besides talented, she exudes confidence and a sense of culture that seems to only be attainable from having Philly as your backyard.
She has been hosting TASTYTREATS, the longest running, most successful party alongside ?uestlove and many special guests every single Saturday night. It is not an event to be missed. ENJOY.
