I’ve been looking forward to this film since I heard about it this Summer. Aronofsky’s one of my favorite directors.

Film Radar: Let The Right One In

This film is hands down the most fascinating flick I’ve seen in 2008 thus far. It’s a vampire genre film that’s been stripped of all the campy extravagance we’ve come to expect from such films. Instead, we’re treated to something we didn’t expect, a love story that shines from it’s subtlety in pacing, picture, frame, sound, and dialogue. Everything in this film is done carefully by director Tomas Alfredson and his team. Each frame tells a strong story through mise-en-scene. Every verbal exchange between the films two main characters is filled with wonder and suspense and we can’t wait to see more with every second delivered. Oh, and the film is meticulously acted. Some of the best scenes are both repulsive and beautifully heartfelt at the same time. You’ll know what I mean by that after seeing the film. I hate to give away too much but the more I type, the more i’ll reveal so just go see the film. I give this film 5/5 stars!

New RED Scarlet and Epic

The Scarlet will come with several lens mount options and will be able to shoot 3K @120fps (with still pictures at 4.9 megapixels) all the way up to 6K @30fps (at 9.4 megapixels). They’ll be priced as low as $2,500 but most likely will go over ten big ones for the better rigs.

The EPIC sensors will shoot from 5K @100fps (with still pictures at 13.8 megapixels) to 9K @50fps (at 65 megapixels), and the price range will range from $28,000 to over $45,000 when they are released in the Spring next year.
